Patricia Candlish Demonstration

Patricia Candlish demonstration of animal painting.

On Wednesday evening - 18th September we were treated to a painting demonstration by our own member Patricia Candlish. Patricia has been painting since she could hold a brush; it comes naturally to her, and she had decided to paint us a hairy Shetland pony. She brought along a pre-prepared canvas and started with the ears and the nose painted carefully as reference points for the rest of the painting. Thereafter she chatted away, completely relaxed as her brush steadily moved across the canvas brush gradually developing the neck, the shoulders and then the mane. We were all impressed by the relaxed unhurried approach and the fun she had picking out pony hairs. It was a very pleasant informal demonstration.
